I.   B.Sc. Nursing Course - 50 Seats

1.    Eligibility Criteria

a.   Nationality

Candidates must be Citizen of India/children or dependents of Non-Resident Indians

b.   Academic

i)   Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible.

ii) Rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted.

iii) Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from authorities other than the State of Kerala shall produce the certificate of recognition and equivalence of the qualifying examination from any University of Kerala.

iv) The norms if eligibility prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council/ Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council/ affiliating Universities shall also apply.

 

c.    Age

Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December. No relaxation of age will be allowed.

 

2.      Admission Procedure: 50% seats will be filled by the Government and remaining 50% will be filled by the Association of the Management of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala.

II.  POST BASIC B.Sc.NURSING COURSE - 30 Seats

1. Eligibility Criteria

a. Nationality :

 

Candidates must be Citizens of India/ children or dependents of Non Resident Indians.

 

b.Academic :

 

       i)   The candidate must be a citizen of Kerala origin

       ii) Should be below 45 years as on or before 31 Dec. 2012 (as per University norms). No relaxation of age will be allowed.

       iii)The candidate should be GNM Diploma holder with 50% marks in aggregate and registered Nurse Midwife from Kerala Nurses and  Midwives Council

iv)He/She should pass PUC or Plus two with science subjects

      v) The candidate should be medically fit

     vi)  Kerala University of Health Science norms for admission for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing are as under.

2. Admission Procedure

     i)     The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of : Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 Years course) or Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), Pre- Degree Examination (10+2) Or equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks. (as per INC norms) The norms of Kerala University of Health Sciences will be applicable.

    ii)   The candidates should have passed 3 3 `/2 years GNM course and hold valid registration with KNMC/INC.

   iii) Candidate shall be medically fit

   iv)  Candidates should be in the rank list published by the LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram for admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing for 2012-13.

   v)   50% seats will be filled by the LBS and remaining 50% will be filled by the Association of the Management of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala.

III. M.Sc. NURSING COURSE

Medical Surgical Nursing - 4 Seats

Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing - 4 Seats Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing - 5 Seats Child Health Nursing - 5 Seats

1. Eligibility Criteria

a.   Nationality

Candidates must be Citizens of India/Children or dependents of Non-Resident Indians.

b.   Academic

i) Candidates should have passed B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from any of the Universities in Kerala or from any Universities outside Kerala which is recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala and should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for the qualifying Examination.

     ii)   Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from authorities other than the State of Kerala shall produce the certificate of eligibility and equivalence of the qualifying examination from any university in Kerala.

    iii) The norms of eligibility prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council/Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council/ affiliating Universities shall also apply.

    iv)  Candidates should also have one years work experience (including internship, if any) as on 30.09.2012 in any hospital having minimum bed strength of 100, or in a School/college of Nursing with Community Health Programme.

 

c. Age:

Applicants should not have completed 45 years of age as on November. No relaxation of age will be allowed.

 

2. Admission Procedure

    i)   Selection will be based on inter se merit, depending on the rank obtained by the candidates in the Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala.

    ii) 50% seats will be filled by the Government and remaining 50% will be filled by the Association of the Management of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala.

    iii)  After receipt of application a common rank list will be published on the website of the Association Separate rank list will also be published on the basis of reservations offered.

    iv)   Admissions will be based on common single window counseling. Candidates will be called for counseling on the basis of their respective ranks.

IV. Post Basic Diploma in Cardio Thoracic Nursing - 15 Seats

1.    Eligibility Criteria

     i)  Candidate who have passed GNM/B.Sc. (N) Post Basic B.Sc. (N) or equivalent Examinations recognized by INC/KNMC are eligible for admission.

     ii) Candidates should possess RN/RM registration from Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council, Thiruvananthapuram at the time of admission.

     iii)  Nurses from other countries must obtain an equivalence certificate from INC before admission

     iv)  Candidates should be medically fit.

     v) Both male and female candidates are eligible for the course.

2.    Admission Procedure:

     i)     Selection of Candidates shall be on merit, based on the marks obtained by them for the qualifying examination.

     ii)   Selection will be based on interview. Date of interview will be intimated to the candidate
